The modern “Sea
Spray” complex is situated in Table View which, as its name suggests, is the classic view point for Table
Mountain. The area is only a 20 minute drive from Cape Town itself and offers easy access to the West Coast or the Winelands (the nearest commercial
vineyards are only 6 kms away). The beach is a mere 1 minute stroll from the flat across Marine Drive. The 3 kms of open beach between Table View and Bloubergstrand is popular
with locals and tourists alike. Kite surfers will be found there on most days while during the season and week ends hawkers
set up their wares along virtually the whole beach front. Morning or afternoon walks/jogs along the promenade are very popular.
THE VIEW :
The flat is on the 4th
floor of a perfectly situated beachfront complex and faces directly on to Table Bay. The
Lounge and Master bedroom both have sliding doors out onto a spacious full length balcony. From the balcony there is a completely
unobstructed 180 degree panoramic view from over the whole of Table Bay – from Table
Mountain and The Waterfront through Robben
Island to Bloubergstrand. The beach and the shore line are approximately
150 metres distant and the breaking waves can be both seen and heard.
From the rear side of
the flat (kitchen and the second bedroom) there is a view of the Table View environs with the Durbanville and Panorama hills
in the background.
FURNISHING & FITTINGS:
The flat is a good size
(being originally designed as fully residential accommodation) and features high ceilings and mirrored surfaces. It was tastefully
fitted with quality new furnishings in late 2008 (for an exhaustive list see the Inventory page). Basically the flat is furnished
and equipped to comfortably address all self catering needs of up to 4 adults, but can cater for additional day visitors too.
The flooring is easy to
clean imported porcelain tiling, but with carpeting in the bedrooms. All windows have curtains and blinds, so privacy is assured.
Apart from the normal
self catering items expected in a quality accommodation, B403 includes the convenience of a fitted dishwasher and washing
machine in the kitchen and a large Fridge/Freezer. A ceramic hob with matching gourmet Defy oven have been installed to make
entertaining a breeze. Emergency lighting and a fire extinguisher are also provided.
The main bedroom features
a firm but comfortable Queen size orthopedic bed with quality linen (including bath sheets), a dressing table, plenty of wardrobe
space and a decent sized safe. The second bedroom has 2 full size quality single beds that can be pushed together if required.
In the spacious lounge/dining
area you will find a 6 seater table, 2 very comfortable couches, a coffee table, a HI Fi set with DVD player and an LCD TV.
A DSTV satellite decoder is available by prior arrangement, or you can bring your own and plug into the socket provided.
The large bathroom has
a full size bath as well as a king size shower.
A Weber barbeque is also
supplied for use on the balcony, along with a lounger, small table and 4 chairs.
Lastly, a prepaid Telkom
phone is provided for convenience which the guest can charge with credit if required. The phone will in any case accept incoming
calls even if not in credit.
